Thanks Menahem, will do, but will have to wait for caps, have some of them but not all. I really hope the ICs are OK

I have recently cleaned-up and serviced an absolutely trashed Beogram 3000. The turntable itself is now looking almost as new but its sprung cover was a real challenge and took many, many hours to sand and polish clear again. I thought I'd never see the end of it. Worst of all, both hinge 'ears' were broken off but at least all the parts were there.

There was no way to glue those acrylic bits back on as the force from the torsion wires are simply too strong. Since I have a milling machine, I decided to re-mill the two ears from the same thickness and colour acrylic and nilled them in such a way that there would be roughly 25x25mm extra acrylic for re-glueing them with acrylic glue on the inside of the lid.

Today, the glue has set, and right now, I'm busy trying to figure out how all the sprung bits fit together.

Hi Andre

We haven't heard from you for a while. How are you doing with your cartridges?

Yesterday I bought my second beomaster 900! Even though it is much smaller than my first beomaster 900, I really like it! Bought it for 15 euros, but the condition wasn't too great...

Before Picture, it smelled terribly as it came from smokers :-(

After disassembling it, I started cleaning, sanding and oiling.

New damping material, new lights.

After reassembling it, I'm really really happy with it! Never thought it would be this good!

Combined with the beogram 1000, perfect!

Are you sure the stuff you bought is "damping" material? Looks more like filter material used for ventilators.

I'm quite sure as I bought it at speaker&co.

Then it must be damping material. Looks like filter material to me because I'm using this stuff a lot for our Honeywell PLC safety systems which needs to be ventilated.

Filter, thermic insulation and sound proofing materials, are very often made from the same materials, the only difference is the price, for sound proofing its more expensive, for thermic insulation cheaper, and for special use like, cut to size for ventilation or air condition filters, the prices are way off limit. I have found the same materials very cheap in sewing supply stores.

Thank you! I really like it!

Today I've done some cleaning of my latest additions, they look a lot better now. The beogram 4002 was making an awful sound when the tone arm moved to the left and right. The sound came from a bearing, and one drip of sewing machine oil was enough to get it perfect again! When connected to my beocenter 9500 it sounds pretty average, but maybe that is because of the mmc 20E - B...

Hello,

Looks easy to do and the result great. Is the weight of IKEA's enough? No need for additional pression?

Nice set! I have a question about how to hang the P30 on the wall. I was wondering if there is a specific mounting wall set for the P30. Thanks, Vincent

If you want to keep them than hmmm, maybe ...

But if you want to repair them and sell, you could be very disappointed how low your effort will be paid ...

Those BC5000 are unfortunately not sought after these days Indifferent

Maybe in few years we will see the reincarnation of cassette like we can observe the Vinyl comeback... Than they could be blockbuster again ..

Until then...Beer

I have two 4715, and they have never chewed any tape so far. My favourite cassette deck by far. There's a bit of DIY in them, or should I say craftsmanship, and I just love that. And boy what a clever and massive transport! No silly idler wheels here...

I would like a 4705 three-header though!

Can touch stripe be removed, or does it "clean" on spot?

The one at left seems to be a 4705... Whistle

I cleaned the strips in situ, I think they are glued. Correct me if I'm wrong.

They are both 15, in self I have 4705, yes looks like glued.

Varnish is rubbed away partly, so I think I should take all away and then renew it.

Hi Orava,

seems to be a nice second use of this 'blades'  Big Smile

The main use is to rotate and influence the Hall sensor (small black cube with two soldered wires) right behind. This sensor gives pulses for each 'cutting edge' when they pass by. Based on those pulses the deck control logic knows whether the tape is still moving or blocked (or cut).
