We expect the price to remain as-is, but I do not know the price point. We hoped for a lower price for the BeoLab 18 when it replaced the BeoLab 8000, but that did not happen either... the dealers are hoping for a lower price.

Roger:

Millemissen is spot on wrt the new sound system. I am not that impressed, but I gues it will improve the daily operation and in that respect it will be good. The system will end up on your living room table, and it will be easy to separate it from the other tablets floating around - but wil it be necessary? It is a merge of a BeoSound 5 and a tablet, part glass and part aluminium.

Roger

Can we use the tablet in combination with the beosound 5?

I guess the answer is in what Roger wrote: "a merge of a BeoSound 5 and a tablet".

Maybe Roger has an answer to that, if he sees the question.

Have just spent ages reading this whole thread! Very interesting! Intrigued to see this new TV with all the B&O magical marvels back again that I have missed for so many years! I am starting to get very excited so I hope its not a little premature!! Will this be the year for B&O? Could be, just could be! I'll might have to trade in a 7-55 I have recently bought if it is! lol! All exciting news, very happy and can't wait to see what's coming!

Big Smile

B&O products are V1-32, BS2, H95, E8 and an Essence remote.
11-46 now replaced with Sony A90J 65”, Sony HT-A9, Sony UBP-X800M2 and Sony SRS-NS7.

Roger:

There will be a new and updated version of the BeoLab 9 available, with an updated design and wireless capability integrated.

Roger

Do we know if the sound improvement and the design change will be as important as with the BL8000 - BL18 update?

It's time to open a specific new thread on the new Beolab 9, isn't it?

It's a debate about the (potential) new products, which is mostly speculation, so it's still a good place to be discussing it.

The V100 is supposed to be out in a month or so....but we only have limited info, surprisingly.

I'm looking forward to hearing about the new Beolab 9. I do like the way they sound but I had never had my wife's agreement to change the BL 8000 to BL 9 so far, due to their look only.

I' wish B&O could design a new icon...

I've floated the idea of saving up and getting a pair of Lab 9s to replace my BL 8000's, and my wife has had the exact same reaction! If I really wanted to she'd not stop me, but she has strongly expressed her opinion that the penguins don't compare to the 8000's in looks. I have to agree despite the sound of the 9's. So, subwoofer may be in the future.

I don't know. I do tend to agree with her that the 8000's slim profile is more attractive. But hey, she says the Lab 5's look like Daleks. Smile At least I married a girl who appreciates Dr. Who!

My wife loves our Beolab 1, 8000 and 6000 so much. But when I show her Beolab 9, 5, 17 and 18 she always asks me: "Why are B&O speakers are looking so ugly nowadays?" My answer is: "The actual designers from B&O normally creating dustbins!"
