Beo4 mark II remote control

Hi all

Looking for some advise regarding a Beo4 mark II controller I've picked up. 

Can someone tell me if it is normal for the display screen to remain on all the time (text showing), or should it turn off at some point?

Text shows all the time on Beo4s - this doesn't drain the battery.  The display only goes off if you take the batteries out and then press a button!
