Hello all,

I am completing a challenging restoration of a Beogram 4002. I was given the turntable by a friend but unfortunately it is missing the wood trim around the base. I still have the metal frame that slides front and back to access the inside.

I want to make a replacement wood frame and glue it to the metal bracket. I have a few questions:

1. Is the base made of solid wood or is it veneered?

2. What are the vertical dimension of the wood strips ? Looks like around 25-40mm

3. What is the thickness of the base, looks like round 6-7 mm

4. What type of wood/veneer was available on the 4002? I found something about rosewood but wonder if walnut or painted white finish was also available back then. Would be easier to reproduce.

Thank you very much !

Eric

All you need to do is look in the 'products' section and that will tell you the official trims of the product:

As for the measurements of the trim pieces, anopther member measured them and produced a schematic which I have somewhere.  When/if I find it, I'll post it here.

Dave.

Teak and Rosewood were the standard colours, white and oak are a bit more unusual.
