Hey Guys,

so i just got myself a Beocord 5000 (Type 4921), when waking it up from standby the tape drive motor starts spinning and does not stop. I just cleaned and removed all the old belts so the motor cant turn anything right now. Maybe it needs to trigger a switch in order to stop?

Despite the tape drive motor the motor of the draw and belt are fine but it does not get any power when pressing the open button, I unpluged the motor and connected 10V and it opens and closes the draw just fine.

When pressing the draw open button voltage on the tape drive motor drops from 9V to 3V. New belts are on the way but i doubt that these will fix the issue with the draw.

Do you guys have any idea what i could check further?

If the old belts fauled (or was wrong as mentioned elsewhere on this forum) the 10 Ohm fusible resistor in the power supply will burn.
I suggest you check this.
It's a safety component, - MUST be replaced with a new fusible resistor. (A normal resistor could start a fire).

Hey Dillen,

where is that resistor located in the power supply? Do i need to remove the transformer cover?

How much Watt should the replacemant have?

Ok just looked it up, the wiring diagramm says 1/4W.

Is it normaL that the tape motor is spinning in the background? This is my first beocord so i have no clue.

Ok i replaced the resistor and belts and the drawer and deck is working now but i goes back into standby after 10 seconds.

I already contacted Martin for some better betls. Any other recommendations what i could check? Both Motors get 14V.

The resistor (yes, it's R20) is a safety component.
Don't just fit any 1/4W resistor.
It MUST be a flameproof type!
