HI all,

In our bedroom we have an old setup with a Beovision AV9000. Beocenter 9000 and Beolab 5000+3000.
Unfortunately we do not use it that much, so I guess its collecting some dust.

However, it happened twice that it has started all by itself. (!)

Once about 6 months ago it was on when we got home from work  and most recently a few days ago
I was preparing to leave for work in the morning, and my wife runs down the stairs with big eyes.."- The TV turned on all by itself again!" .

Of course the easiest explanation is that there must have been a ghost that turned it on, but is there a more scientific way to explain this phenomena?  ;)

Thanks,

/Peter

When we have power 'blips' from the grid via EDF, our AV9000 and Avants turn on.  We've been in the house when it's done it so we know what causes it.  We frequently arrive home to find the TV on!  I suppose a power surge can trigger the TV into thinking it's been switched on via a set-top box for example.

No ghosts in the machine.

Dave.

I am aware of this happening in the UK when external Freeview boxes are connected via scart to older B&O TV's such as MX's. When the Freeview box receives a software update and switches on, the scart sense in the TV wakes the TV up from stand-by.

Did you check the imagines on the TV, if it is Jesus or the virgin Mary, you may have to do with a Mexican ghost, these imagines turns up everywhere over here

Collecting Vintage B&O is not a hobby, its a lifestyle.

Blimey you want to live in thailand, I have things turning on and off most days, the electricity supply is a nightmare

the most fun one is my burglar alarm , if it loses power for any reason, on reconnection it turns on, sometimes I don't know until I touch a door and the damned thing goes off and scares the hell out of the dog
