Hi,

ive had my CDX a for a month or two now and have a problem that's started today. When the lid closes, it appears completely closed but the light stays on and the disc doesn't spin. A bit of pressure on the lid where the center of the disc is does the trick. Now, it's fitted into a fairly tight space and I put some LED lights in and I can see that they could have prevented the lid fully opening by a fraction. It's the only thing I can think of that's different.

any suggestions would be welcome

thanks

paul

Paul, move it our from the space it's in and see if it works properly when the lid can fully open.  If it does, you've answered the question.

Dave.

Thanks for the reply Dave, I've already tried that .... I'm wondering whether the lid itself has bent slightly as the edge goes hard on the surface on the right hand side but not the left, a bit of pressure on the join of the persex and aluminum on the left clicks it into action

What is the sensor that throws the switch?

Actually there's an adjustment for this. The procedure is in the service manual.

Yes but don't shoot in the dark, you really must respect the manual's procedure (sorry).

Ah yes I see .... I guess the problem is really that the switch isn't being tripped, ie switching off the light and spinning the disc, so it's whether the adjustment of the lid closing will affect that, it's really only a very small distance involved and there's not much visible that the door hasn't closed. I'm not used to looking at these exploded drawings so not really sure how the lid relates to the switch 😕
