Hi All,

I acquired a broken BV7-32 mk3 as I needed a replacement DVD mechanism for my BV7-40 and wanted to change the surround colour on my own BV7-32.

This does however mean I have a lot of other spare parts left over, so if anyone requires any parts please let me know.

I'm happy to post bits out or they can be collected from Exeter (I'm not looking for any payment - just cover the cost of postage)

Kind Regards,

Martin.

Hi Martin. Is the DVDlayer the same on the 32 vs the 40? I have big swirl marks on my contrast screen caused by someone using some sort of cleaning fluid it's ruined the tv and I've been after a new contrast screen for some time but am yet too see one on eBay. Is the contrast screen in good condition? Would you consider selling me the contrast screen and I will pay for postage and packaging also?

Thank you

David Martin

Hi Martin,

Do you need the dvd controlbox? Or have you have the old one as spare

I'm interested in that part.

Would be very nice!

Costs and extra will be payed in advance

Thanks,

Beobuddy.

The DVD mechanism appears to be identical, although I haven't yet tried fitting it as I need to wait until I have some assistance before trying to lift my BV7-40 down from its wall bracket!.

I seem to recall reading somewhere that this was one of the changes between BV7-32 mk2 and mk3 (ie they switched to using the same mechanism as was in the 7-40)

The contrast screen has a 2 inch scratch on the left hand side, made worse by the fact that it looks like someone has removed more of the coating around the scratch by rubbing at it (photos below)

It is in the black border around the outside of the screen rather than within the display area though, so you may decide this is better than what you have now.

I'll leave you to decide on that one and offer you first refusal on having it for the cost of postage. I've got some spare plywood kicking around and if you do want it I think the best way I could package it would be to wrap it first and then cut a couple of sheets of ply to protect and reenforce it during transit.

Kind Regards,
Martin.

It has a black frame and I'm intending to replace the Alu frame on my 7-32 with this, but I want to keep my old frame in case I decide to swap back at any point.

I'm honestly not sure if the LCD works or not. The TV had a display fault, but I'm not sure if this is the LCD at fault or the electronics which drive it. The TV appeared to work normally, ie I could change sources, and hear sound, and when powered on the backlight would come on, the screen would be blank, then at the point when the curtains would normally open, the display would change to what is pictured below, with a sparkling effect (ie many of the pixels randomly changing colour)

Maybe others might have some thoughts on where the fault might lay.

Anyway, if you want to try the LCD panel you're very welcome to it.

Kind Regards,

Martin.

I believe this is a DVB-T tuner. It has part number 8052265 on the plastic frame and 8080109 on the lower PCB if this helps.. There isn't a 7-32 mk3 service manual on the site so it's difficult to check many of the module part numbers.

It's yours if you want it.

Kind Regards,

Martin.

That would be great! Happy to pay for your time as well... I'll send you an email.

Just to check, do you mean the part pictured below that the DVD mechanism connects to?

I don't need that so it's yours if you want it.

Kind Regards,

Martin.

SlyParma:

I haven't, sorry. The TV had a DVB-T module but this has already been promised.

Of what is left, the plastics are likely to be disposed of soon as they are in my way and probably the least likely parts to be required by me or anyone else but please do shout if anyone wants any of them.

The rest of the parts I will try to keep, at least for now, so if there is anything anybody needs please do let me know.

I'd also be interested to hear if anyone has an idea about the symptoms of the original display fault (as shown in the photos above) - ie whether it is likely to be the panel or one of the boards in the TV that was faulty, and consequently whether it is worth holding on to the panel.

Kind Regards,

Martin.

P.S. Jonathan & Beobuddy - Apologies for the delay, and please be assured I haven't forgotten you, but I haven't yet found an opportunity to box up the parts I have promised you in preparation for shipping. I'm currently working 80+ hours a week whilst we near handover on a project so I'm struggling to find much time for anything else at the moment.

Martin,

you still have parts from this unit available?

Lightning recently took out my masterlink unit - don't know if it's a separate board. If it is (I guess you would know...), I'd be happy to cover the shipping cost to get it to Oslo..

Please contact me 'out of band' at helge @ mellvik.com .
