Hi, I have a BV8 connected to a BM6500 which is in a sideboard, Beovox speakers are connected to the bombaster. When I press AV and then a TV input I can get the sound routed through to the speakers and control the Beomaster volume with the door closed on the sideboard but have to open the door if I want to play a record or radio.

Current options settings are BV Option 2 and BM Optioon 1 - is there a combination of settings that will allow me to control the BM through the BV?

Any help much appreciated

Correct settings should be Opt V-1 and A-1 - if you have the speakers connected to the BM (and both systems in the same room)!

You must be able to reach the BM with the ir-commands of the Beo4 in order to control it.

If the (BeoVox) speakers were on the BM (you need an amp for the speakers then), the settings should be V-2 and A-0.

You could hide the BM in the cupboard - It would only serve as a source for the BV.

All controlling would go through the BV.

There is a tv - and there is a BV

hi Millensen

Thanks, yes I tried it with an MCL converter connected to the Beovision, I could hear it switching but no sound and the BV didn't seem to recognise the extra speakers - I used a MKIII power link cable as well. Maybe I should get the Beomaster out of the sideboard and enjoy looking at it!

Maybe the best solution. If you want to keep your BM in the sideboard, connect an MCL2A (Extra Speaker Kit incl. IR receiver) to SPEAKER2 outputs of the BM6500. Connect your Beovox speakers to the MCL kit. Set your BM to A.OPT 0, BV to V.OPT1 and MCL kit to L.OPT1. Now everything should work as desired.

Hi Stefan

Brilliant, thanks, yes I will do that - will keep an eye on out ebay for one, but that would seem the best way forward

Thanks again

I feel stupid - I just discovered that the signal from the BEO4 is so strong that it is enough to pass through the small gap in the doors! Sometimes the simple answers are the best - didn't even think to try that!

A nice cheap option then.  I thought you'd tried it and it didn't work - hence the original post.

Nice to have a positive resolution.

Dave.
