There aren't many pics of the new Avant on its table stand, so if anyone is thinking of getting one here are some pics. I think the remote stand is very clever, but I much prefer it on this.........

Local store has it in the flesh

It is very nice

And makes for a much more tidy installation compared to the "trunk" / "tail" of the floor stand variant

What do you mean by the remote stand Chris? All the stand variants work from a remote, I am confused by what you are saying? Is this a picture of a standalone (non moving) stand from STB you are demonstrating or something?

B&O products are V1-32, BS2, H95, E8 and an Essence remote.
11-46 now replaced with Sony A90J 65”, Sony HT-A9, Sony UBP-X800M2 and Sony SRS-NS7.

The table stand variant has been my favourite and would be the only way I'd have it if i owned one.

The floor stand? Yes...

I do agree with you that the table stand (B&Os original one) is a superb addition to this TV. Its one of the best stands I have ever seen and compliments the set perfectly. I am watching this set with interest as time goes on. It will undoubtedly replace my BV9 at some point but probably in a couple of revisions time or so. I am not an early adopter. I wonder if they will make this backlit like the 7-55 at any point? That's what's missing, but then relative to price so...

Hence why it moves in two opposing directions simultaneously?

I agree elephant, the trunk/tail is rather hideous and looks alongside the beauty and elegance of a beautiful stand, to be a severe oversight. This is one of the things that bugs me and stops me from going for it in several months from now when the big decision has to be made.

It's like getting dressed up in a fine dinner jacket, an elegant bow tie and polished shoes but forgetting to put on a pair of underpants and leaving your flies undone with it all hanging out....!
