I have two questions about mz BV5, which is working well connected to my MacMini, which streams all my video and audio from a server.

1) Default audio is very low and I need to increase volume every time I start the BV5. I know it is possible to change the default audio volume for "TV", but how could this be done for "DVD-DVI". My MacMini is connected over DVI and scart-audio.

2) I would like audio-only (e.g., airplay from my macmini( to automatically turn on my BV5. Unfortunately, I learnt on this forum that the BV5 does have line-in-sensing, which currently prevents this. Is there any other way how I could this? Would buying a Beosound Essence help?

1: set the audio-output to nearly max on the Mini - and let it stay so.

2: using the command 'AV' before the 'Source' lets the screen stay muted in order to just have sound.

There is a tv - and there is a BV

Thanks for your quick reply.

re 1 - my mini is already at maximum volume. unfortunately, it is still way too low with the bv5 default. of course, i can just use the beo4 to increase volume, but would prefer not to do this everytime. there is a way to change the default audio volume with "tv", but do not find a way to do this with the dvi in.

re 2 - i succeeded to do this based on great advice in another thread in this forum. what i would like to do is to have the bv5 auto-turnon. currently, i still need to manually turn on the bv5 to av-dvd2, which is a bit annoying. would like to remove this one step.

Hi steve1977,

re 1: You can only set ONE default volume which works with EVERY source. I know this is sometimes unsatisfactory because different sources have different volumes (especially analogue sources provides higher volumes than digital sources).

re 2: Sorry, this is not possible.

Thanks for your replies. I have another idea how I can succeed to get the "auto-on" working. I could connect my airport-express to my bc2, which again is connected to my bv5. Will the BC2/BV5 turn on and play once I airplay through the bc2 line-in?
