Hello,

does anyone know if it possible to disconnect the in-built Avant (new) speakers and instead use a Beolab 7 / 10 in a surround setup?

Best regards,

Riven

No problem in that.

You can make any (BeoLab) speaker act as whatever speaker you want.

Just choose 'off' (for the Avant speakers) in the Sound Settings, when you create a new Speakers Group, and choose the connected BL7/10 as the Center Speaker.

As you might know, you can have several different Speaker Groups.

You could even make one with (internal speakers) and one without - if that is your choice.

Would make sense, if you are using a HDMI switch for a connected Mediaplayer (or the Oppo BRP), and have a projector-solution with a center speaker on another wall in your room.

I don't know, whether the (Avant-)speaker unit will 'move down' or not in that case, when you turn it on.

If it does, it would be a thing that could/should be solved in a future SW update.

BUT - I have to ask - why don't you want to use the internal speaker(s) - they are imo excellent.

The speakers box will always move down for several reasons

-3d IR blaster is behind the fabric.

-The wireless antenna for power link is in the speaker box.

-The speaker must move away too allow ventilation for the electronics.

I am for an avant without speaker. Please, let the electronic breath all the time Big Smile

@Radiomekanikeren

Seems an explanation - but then it is a 'bad solution'!
