I am wondering if a UK spec BeoCord V8000 is capable of playing European VHS tapes or just UK/PAL ones (I don't have any tapes to hand so I can't test myself)

Hi there I do believe that most European & Scandinavian recordings will play as they use PAL with the exception of France (Secam) which i believe may play in black and white - excuse me if im wrong about that one :)
Both UK and Danish VHS tapes play fine in my V8000.
I'm not sure if I'm reading it correctly but the B&O site seems to show that it CAN play PAL & SECAM.

Yes it will play the American NTSC perfectly as well. All good!
