I have an opportunity to get Beovision 10 46" at a very good price (originally purchased 3 years ago but looks as good as new). Question for people who experienced both models - in your opinion - is it worth it to pay much more (2x) for Beovision 11 46" vs Beovision 10 46". One important thing to mention is that I will only use internal speakers of the tv since my wife hates external speakers. The quality of the built-in sound system is probably the most important factor for me here, as I'm sure both TVs will deliver superb image quality. Absence of 4k is definitely not a problem.

Please correct me if I'm wrong but for a B&O TV 3 years is not a problem and it will work fine for at least 10 more? :)

Thanks in advance!

I too would like to pose the same question. I'm not in a position to buy yet but am considering both the said tv's. I realise the obvious answer is the 11, especially for sound as it is better spec'd and newer, but is it actually worth the extra money? BV10's are now getting affordable ,but is it still worth holding out for an 11? Opinions of owners from both camps much appreciated.

Graeme.

The BV11 sound is considerably better than the BV10, and has the concept of sound modes that can be optimized for films, TV, music, gaming, etc. the same can be done for picture. It also provides a lot of flexibility should you add speakers later. Software is also updated via the internet, rather than having someone from BO make a house call. In my opinion it is a considerable upgrade to the BV10 from a sound perspective, and the PQ is somewhat better. I did not have the BV10, but I did a lot of comparison prior to purchasing the BV11.One point to note, is that the BV11-55 sound is quite better than the BV11-46 due to extra built-in speakers. I came to the store to buy the 11-46, but the sound was so much better that i came out with the 11-55. Ultimately I connected BL1s to the TV, but standalone sounded great even just listening to music.

BV11-55, BS9000, BL1, BL19, Transmitter 1, Beo4, Beocom 6000, BeoTalk1 200, Sennheiser HD600, McIntosh MHA100

A slight correction to this:

Both 11-46 & 11-55 have excellent active 3-way stereo speakers with same drivers and amplification specs. There are no extra speakers in the 55" model compared to its smaller siblings.

However, the drivers are placed differently in BV11-55, the speakers take advantage of the larger cabinet space available in the 55" model, and include two bass ports. So the 55" model has a (slightly) better bass reproduction, but I've not found the sound in any way lacking in the 46" model either. It's miles ahead of BV10-46, which I also owned.

A summary of Pros of BV11 over BV10 (having owned both):

- much, much better sound

- new video engine with considerably more features and adjustments for picture & sound

- newer & better panel (with 1.5D local dimming)

- connections

- over-the-air updates

- DLNA capabilities for streamed video / audio / photos

- Spotify & Deezer built-in

- new sources & functions have been and can be introduced via software updates

- 3D (if you're into it)

I would not even consider the BV10, it's basically based on the old BV8 internals.

I second KMA and RX on BV10/11 comparison having owned a BV10-40 and now BV11-46.

But, there is a but, I was very happy with my BV10 (appart it broke all the time).

When it finally got fixed I loved the picture and pushed the sound sometimes for partys. It was ok even if BV11 plays in another league.

If price matters you surely can have a lot of joys with a BV10.

Thanks everyone! Price surely matters but not -that- much. I didn't realize a lot of things about bv10 like the lack of online updates. Looks like bv10 is a bit too outdated.

Maybe not 'outdated' as it is a 1080p panel.

But the 11 certainly enjoys advantages over the 10.

I have both now and can tell you that the 11 is better.

As a stand alone..maybe not as much, but if it's part of a system then the 11 is worlds better.
