Good evening.

Does anyone have any idea how much these turntables sell for? I have one that I don't use but have no idea how much it worth.

The turntable is in very good all round condition. The wood is unmarked and the lid is free from gouges and scratches. I had it serviced around a year ago and everything is working fine. All in all, I would say it is it is a great unit. Almost forgot, I have only used it twice!

Many thanks in advance!

The market decides.  I've seen them sell for 100 €  to over 1 000 €.

If you put it on eBay it will sell easily as the 4000 is one of the best and most sought after B&O TT's made.  Up to you if you put a reserve on it.

It partly depends on where you are in the World because of shipping risks etc.  Also partly depends on the cartridge with it as they alone can collect up to 250 € for an MMC 20CL for example.

I'd keep it and use it.  It's a waste not using it but if you have no intention of using it, I can see why you might want to sell it.

If you upgrade to silver or gold membership you could advertise it here on Beoworld as I'm sure there will be some who would be  interested. Wouldn't surprise me if someone went via the back door and contacted you with an offer either.  It will probably be low /medium price in the hope of tempting you.  Think about it and research prices via some auction sites first.  I couldn't find any on eBay today but there will be.

Dave.

Many thanks for the advice. To be honest, I am having second thoughts. The 4000 is sitting alongside a 9500 Beocenter on top of a vintage side board. They kind of look very at home and comfortable there. I just feel bad about them never really being used. I always tend to use Airplay devices around the house simply for speed. They B & O pieces are pretty much expensive ornaments these days.

That's a shame - to not use them doesn't really do them any good.  They should be used to keep components operating properly and keep humidity out.  I also airplay/stream lots too but still use all of my active systems.  You get to appreciate the different sound qualities between different media and equipment.  Give them a run for an afternoon - assuming the cartridge is OK and see what you think.  Yes, you have to change records etc but it's all part of the enjoyment.
