Good day all,
I have recently upgraded my system with an Beosound 5 Encore player. Being part of the "high-tech" listeners i want to play music from my ipad.
I want to use Spotify/Itunes.
Are there any other ways of listening to those medias other than airport express through the AUX port, or a bluetooth dongle?
I guess there will be lack of info on the player itself using AUX port? No song title, artists etc....
Please help a Beosound 5 Encore noobie...
And if there is any excisting threads please tell me..
Thanks
Hi magnusaglen and welcome to Beoworld,
with everything going through the Aux-port, the short - and only - answer is:
You will get no information - except for the 'Aux' on the screen!
'use iTunes' - in what way, do you mean/how do you intend to use iTunes?
MM
There is a tv - and there is a BV
Well Thank you :)
1. Spotify - only to be used through the AUX port? ok.....
2. Itunes. The music i have in itunes can only be played through itunes as a program? correct? So I cant export the files onto an USB (example) and use that on my encore? So I have to use itunes on my ipad through an airport express...?
I understand that the music will be played, but I was hoping for some info on the BS5E screen aswell :)
Hi Magnusaglen & Hi MM.
Yes you can 'drag and drop' music from your iTunes library. On my MacBook, I make a folder and just drag and drop tunes into that before transferring them onto a USB stick (for Djing with Pioneer CDJs) or for Emailing to Friends. Hope that helps
Also, if you have iTunes on a computer, the Encore should 'see' the iTunes library.
Sorry, Paul - no!
The Encore is a DLNA device, and can not connect to a iTunes library....
....unless it is on a NAS with a transcoder function.
@magnus - have a look at this thread, it might help you:

Hi MM,
Oh MY GOSH that's so silly, i didn't realise that! No wonder it didn't sell very well. Thanks for that anyway :)
If you know (and accept), what it is for - and you like the way, one has to interact with it - it is a nice device.
Very convenient if you have a BS/BM5 and no MasterLink, because you then can use the music/the server in the BM5 in other rooms as well.
Or if you already have a local music library on a NAS with a good DLNA server - and only need a standalone device.
With the upcoming use of music services like Spotify, however it has become lesser usefull.
