Hi guys,
What are the differences between the beogram 6006 and the 8000? I've had a look at the technical specs and they seem slightly different but I can't understand why.
Lee
Cleve I think you're confusing the 6006 and the 6002. The 6006 is direct drive a la beogram 8000.
They are the same decks!
Differences? Yes, the control panel has black plastic buttons on the 6006, and it was equiped with the MMC20EN, whereas the 8000 had an MMC20CL fitted as standard. It was part of the Beolab 6000 system. I've had both.
Jacques
Thank for that Jacques,
But why are the technical details different between the two? According to the information I have read the 8000 has a Wow and Flutter DIN of <0.04% and a Rumble DIN (weighted) of >70db, where as the 6006 has a W&F DIN of <0.05% and a weighted Rumble reading of >65db.

I was told that the 8000 and 6006 were pretty similar but the best ones were kept for 8000s. Probably apocryphal!

Apocryphal...What a wonderful word! One I of course had to look up.And it wasn't in my new book.

Dillen: And it wasn't in my new book.
And it wasn't in my new book.
Wasn't even trying with that one!!
The difference would be as pointed out MMC20CL and MMC20EN. Ad black keys and style for the Beosystem 6000 aimed use.
I know that my white 6006 came with MMC20EN and quickly added the MMC20CL. Still sounds wonderful after Martin had done the service on it including new tacho disc.
Thanks for all your replies guys. I've made up my mind... I'm getting a 6006 at the end of the month :-)
