OK nice that it is asked since 2011 on this forum, but we are now almost in 2015!The point is that I recently heart from someone that it wil come in early 2015, that was the reason I ask....
I think there are here on this forum also dealers active that can give some light :-))
If any dealer would know, he surely would not tell us!
We'll just have to wait - to be surpriced

There is a tv - and there is a BV

I don't think they will be producing anything on that day 🎉
But - that would probably mean launch at the CES 2015.
Hi,
please, please... no update, I just got my BeoLab5s this week (after a three year decicion period) and I love them.An update would somehow disturb my dream.
So please B&O keep selling the good old BeoLab5s for some more years ;-)

What's the benefit of having wireless High-End speakers? From my point of view - nothing!
You should always try to use the Beolab 5 via SPDIF instead of Powerlink - and please with uncompressed audio files! There was another thread last week in the forum regarding build in DAC of the Beolab 5.

The wireless (WiSA) standart that B&O uses transfers audio in 24/48 quality.
That should be enough for most purposes.
Even if you would connect the speaker to a source via spdif, the internal handling of the audio would still be at the 24/48 level.
"- in: Sample rate 32k, 44.1k, 48k, 96k / PCM16-24 bit
- out: Sample rate 48k / PCM 24 bit"
As from the specs of the BL20.
I guess that will be exactly the same in the 'new BL5' as with the other new wireless speakers.
To be certain, we will have to wait for how they make the 'new BL5'
P.S. I agree that one should use uncompressed files - at least for 'serious listening' - but that is another discussion.
I also don't think "when" they come out with a new Beolab 5 they only bring in the WiFi connection but proberly they wil make also other changes...... for me the Beolab 5 is the best loudspeaker experience they make til today.
