Dear members,

I have a problem with a LC2. I have five in total and four work perfectly. However, I am using the fifth one with a lamp that employs a transformer. Therefore there are only low voltage halogen lights in use. Currently, an electronic transformer is mounting inside of the lamp and the LC2 is installed between power and the transformer. Function is 100%. The lamp turns on and off as it should and it can be dimmed using the LC2 by touch function and by using a remote. So what's wrong?

There is a pretty noticable hum even when the lamp is not dimmed and it gets worse until 50% light intensity and then better again until the light is off. At around 50% the LC2 is really noisy. This does not happen with any of my other LC2s that are used with different lamps without transformers. Those are perfectly quiet. So it has to do something with the combination of transformer and dimmer. A conventional dimmer instead of the LC2 didn't cause similar problems. Any ideas?

By the way: every time I turn the LC2 on or off it is at around 80%. How can I change the startup intensity of light to 100%?

Thanks very much!

Greetings,

Kai

Martin has meanwhile informed me that the LC2 doesn't work together well with electronic transformers (although in principle compatible). Seems like I will need to replace the transformer again. Thanks!

Any ideas on the programming issue?

Cheers,

Kai

Hi Kai,

You could set up a light picture that only has that LC2 set at 100%.

Or if it's the only LC2 in that room, and you haven't programmed any light pictures (LC2s reset to factory mode) pressing LIGHT, 1 should give you full intensity.
