I buy one Beolink passive yestarday.
I connected the two devices, Beolink passive and Beosound 9000 with a Masterlink cable.
I set all the connections but the BeoLink passive is always on standby, light orange, and I cant hear the music.

The connection are correct?
Or it could be the BeoLink passive defective?

The Beosound 9000 dont active the speakers, the only connection I set is the Masterlink to the Beolink passive and the two non BO passive speakers.

Thanks
Massimiliano

Connect with a powerlink cable, not a Masterlink cable...

So the connections with Masterlink is wrong?
I thought it was the best connections.

Then I have to buy the cable and powerlink cable and link the BS9000 to BL Passive with only the Powerlink cable.
Then the BL passive will turn on automatically when the I sound the BS9000?
My system is composed as follows:
The BS9000 is connected only to BeoLink Passive with two non BO passive speakers and a remote control BEO4.
My BL passive  doesnt have IR control because is in the same room of the BS 9000.

Hi Massimiliano - and welcome to Beoworld,

be sure to use a fully wired PowerLink cable - otherwise the BL Passive won't turn on.

You can get it from a local B&O dealer - just tell him for what it is needed.

Or buy from the Beoworld sponsor Steve at SoundsHeavenly (link below).

The MasterLink cable/connection is for building a network of several B&O devices.

The PL cable is for feeding the BL Passive (the amp with your passive speakers connected) with sound - and for transmitting the ir signals (to the 9000) for volumen etc and for turning it on/off control.

There is a tv - and there is a BV

Hi,

if the Beolink passiv is used in the same room as the B&O sound source (the BS9000 in your case) a powerlink cable is the only cable you need to interconnect both items.

The masterlink connection of the Beolink passiv is used if you use it in another room than the source but then you would also need an IR eye ( = receiver).

You don't need to buy a powerlink cable if you have a fully wired 5Pin DIN cable available. You can use this instead of the oficcial powerlink cable for this purpose.

Hope this helps

Edit: I should post my answer right after writing it. So Millemissen was more than an hour faster Whistle

Thank you very much.

So with Masterlink cable I cannot hear the music.......if I dont buy a remote IR.

You suggest me to use a 5pin Din Powerlink cable  fully wired.

But the BO Powerlink cables there are 3 different types.

Mark I at 5pin Din
Mark II at 8 pin Din
Mark III at 8 pin Din

Powerlink cable suitability for speakers;

Mk1 are for non IcePower speakers (for example the BeoLab 6000, early BeoLab 4000, BeoLab 8000)

Mk2 are for everything and can also carry data signals, so are perfect for BeoLab Penta.

Mk3 are for IcePowered (for example BeoLab 8002, BeoLab 6002, BeoLab 3)

Forget the Masterlink for this simple set-up.  No need for it or an IR.

MKII are OK for you.  Just contact Steve at Sounds Heavenly and tell him what you need and the set-up you have.  He will suggest the best option for you.  He knows B&O cables inside out.  If you get MKII you can use them in the future if you upgrade to BaO active speakers so you're future proofed.

Dave.
