Beolab 6000's or beolab 4000's on stands?
For stereo sound.
Which is the best of the two?
Had most of their speakers, but never heard the 4000's on stands.
Thank you!!
While I never liked the 6000's I think the 4000's are a great speaker. I have had a lot of them but always wall mounted.
This was sort of discussed a couple of weeks ago. It partly depends on what you use them for - mainly music or for TV/films, and the placement. If rears, usually the taller speakers are better but as the 4000's would be on floor stands that equals things out a bit. The 4000's have more bass but I have only used mine on the small bookshelf/table stands - I assume when you say 'floor stands' you mean the tall stands?
Normally I'd opt for the 4000's. The 6000's are underrated I think as they do perform very well - I use some with a BV7_32 as side speakers with a BL7.4 centre and they are really good with stereo effects. Another factor is how they would look in the position you'd use them?
Dave.
Thanks guys.
Sounds like the 4000's then.
Enjoy your weekend.

McDonalds on Collins Street (Spring St end) has the 4000s mounted.
I love that Mc Donalds :-)

The only B&O I've ever seen in a business were both restaurants. A pair of black CX100s in a restaurant in Jackson Hole Wyoming (great elk and venison) and a Chinese restaurant years ago in Orlando Florida that had a BS9000, Pentas, and a Beolab 2000. The BS9000 was funny, it was on the back wall of the restaurant, horizontally mounted, with a Penta on each side. To go to the restrooms you went to the BS9000, and turned right or left depending on your sex.

I'm afraid I'm recovering from the BeoVirus.
I've seen them in quite a few places - a danish bar in New York had a load of 4000's onthe wall, 8000's and a BS9000 wall mounted (about six years ago) a hotel in struer (obviously) and oddly enough a Danish Gift Shop in Frinton-on-Sea - called Great Danes - there is a beosound radio/cd player in there and the names of the great danish designers on the wall - which also pays homage to B&O.
