Hello, Our Beosound 1 has just stopped opening the CD unit. The radio still works fine. The CD makes a sound like it is spinning, then stops after a short while. Neither the remote control or the button on the unit will make it open. There is a CD inside it. Any advice would be most welcome, as I am three hours from a B&O centre. Thank you, David

Hi David

Welcome to BeoWorld.

Sorry to hear your BeoSound 1 is acting up. It's a bit cliched but have you tried turning the power off for a few minutes? It sounds corny but you would be amazed at how many times it cures this type of problem.

If it doesn't work I think you will need to get a service guy to look at it.

If all else fails you could connect a Playmaker or Airport Express to the auxilliary socket and stream music instead of playing CDs.

Good luck.

Hello Opman,

Thank you for taking the time to help. Have tried the "turn off for a while" approach with no success. When I turn on at the mains the motor spins..sounds like the CD drive, then stops. If I press "load" another sound happens, a louder spin.

I suspect it will be a service person job.

But thanks for your efforts.

Cheers David

Hi David

My bs 1 had the same issue, took it to local repair centre ( which happens to have an ex b& o engineer) and they advised depending on fault could be a new cd mech or just maintenanceSurprise I.e a good clean.... Thankfully a good clean and £30 later all back to perfectBig Smile

Well worth getting repaired.

Good luck Big Smile

Hello Bramble,

Thank you for that. Could indeed be the problem, but for me the nearest service is three hours away. Still, thats probably what I have to do.

Thanks for making time to reply.

Regards, David

Hi David ,

They did advise that to open and repair wouldn't be a job you could do yourself.

Hope all goes well.

Rgds
