Beoplay V1 with MLGW

Happy new year to everyone.

i have been asked by a friend in Croatia a few questions regarding the V1 as his local dealer could not answer the questions for him.

firstly, can the V1 use different speakers as fronts or rears depending on the sound group? So for example there are 4 speakers (BL3s) set up in a square,

so can in one speaker group speakers 1 and 2 be used as fronts and in another setting 2 and 4 be used as fronts?

 

the second question is can the V1 be added to the older MLGW, my friend was told he would have to upgrade to the new beolink gateway for this?

If the software is up to date on the MLGw and if it's a second generation it should be fine.

With regard to the first question, the answer is yes. Any speakers can be any group.

One of the great things with the system4 chassis.

Thanks for the replies, I have passed on the information to my friend. He is in London at the end of this week so hopes to pop into a B&O store and get more information and take the wife along for approval!
