I have all my FLAC/High bitrate music stored on a NAS (Network Attached Storage). I want to use my iPad to stream the music to my Playmaker. The app must be easy to use like Spotify. What is the best app available?
Currently, the app supplied with the NAS providor is very bad (WD My book).
Thanx
I don't know how you use Spotify.
To me Spotify is like having a great/huge NAS at home - I normally do a search for an artist/band and then for the album, I am looking for.
Other people use Spotify differently. They use 'playlists - their own and those of their friends....
Searching in my local music (on my NAS) normally means, that I know which artist/album I have stored.
Therefore I mostly go direct into folder view or artist/album view. Some DLNA controllers do have a search function as well - I rarely use that with my own collection. If your files are organized the right way, you can also access playlist on your NAS with a DLNA control point/app.
I mainly use the 8Player on my iPad. Perfect for my way of accessing my own collection. You can easily play to the DLNA renderer of your choice (e.g. the Playmaker) from it.. You can even AirPlay from within the app - if that is what you prefer - to the Playmaker or to an ATV-box.
Why not just give it a try - and do report back, what you experienced using it....please.
Note: to do this, you must have a good DLNA server running on your NAS.
