For those who do not know B&O have opened their new flagship store in Hanover Square, London W1.

we tend to forget there is more to design than designing.

The map is of Hannover, Brunswick Georgia USA! Jeez that lack of attention would drive me bonkers.

And why not shut Monday when everyone is at work, at open Sunday when we are all out SHOPPING!!!!!

Beosound Stage, Beovision 8-40, Beolit 20, Beosound Explore.

That, without doubt, is poor work by whoever did the website...  Erm..

Good Luck to the owner of the store. The rent and rates must be frightening so hopefully it'll work for them Yes - thumbs up

Chris good point - SUNDAY!!! That was the day that i'd do brunch at Carlucci's with friends in Hampstead and then if we were feeling 'brave enough' we'd visit the B&O store a few steps away.

Sunday opening is really important!

I'm feeling pale just imagining the cost of ownership for the B&O store in Mayfair. London simply gobbles the bank account in every way!

The owner could be shut due to religious reasons,I know the owner of a multi franchise motor group, who shuts every Sunday due to his beliefs, granted he knows he misses out on business, but he is a devout Christian.

That's a fair point Butch1 :) I must admit, I wouldn't want to work on a Sunday or even a Saturday - it is special time :)

Yeah, but that's what's usually needed to be a business owner. Wink

So I went to the store today and here are my impressions...

First the store is very difficult to find. It doesn't have windows as a standard store, but it looks more like the entrance to the head office a very posh bank.

As I was searching it I walked passed it 3 times without seeing it.

Because of how the building looks, it's very un-inviting. Even after I saw the logo on the door I thought that couldn't be the store, but maybe they had some UK offices there.

The interior is L shaped and has the new shop look.

On the left, you've got a small beoplay section and a counter with the 2 shop assistants and the Nespresso machine.

On the right, you've got a larger space, with 2 rotating platforms showing the TVs and the Speaker wall is on the rear. There is also a desk with a nice iMac.

There were 2 staff at counter, a man and a woman. The woman is very elegant, well spoken, with the perfect attitude for a very upmarket store but also very knowledgeable. I had talked to her before a couple of times as she used to work at the harrods and selfridges concessions.

I cannot say anything about the guy I had never met before.

As I entered the shop another person entered at the same time and was asking a question.

While waiting I went to the other side where the TV was.

I was completely ignored for at least 10 minutes. This may comes from the fact that their desk is located at a point where you cannot see the larger part. But being 2 staff, I felt one of them should have least come and talked to me.

After a while, I left without having talked to anyone...

The typical situation that Tue wanted to avoid.

I guess it's the beginning and things will improve.

I think this will be more of a showroom than a store. I don't see anyone feeling curious popping in the store 'just to have a look', as it really feels this is an invitation only place.
