Has anyone used an Almondo Powerlink-Switch? It allows two inputs to one set of B&O speakers, and automatically switches between the inputs. At 289 Euros it is quite expensive and I wonder whether it actually works. I foolishly purchased two audio masters: BC2 and BS9000 and now have to set up two separate systems as two audio masters cannot be run on one system. I would however like to use a pair of BL4000's on both systems.
I look forward to hearing from anyone who has used the switch.

Hello,
yes i have bought one and quite happy with it.
our house is serviced everywhere (kitchen, bathroom, outdoor) by a beosound 5 ( which I adore) but in my office/ study I have a Beolab 8000 connected to a Beosystem 7000 and I wanted to enjoy spotify or internet radio as well when I'm alone at home.
here is how I proceded:
- Input one,: beosystem 7000 so whenever I hit my mcp6500 or Beolink 7000, the beolab 8000 give me as priority my bs7000 (when eg I hear my wife switching to a news radio station)
- input two: the powerlink output from a beolink active ( which is in option 4 ( link)) and i have a beo4 which constantly in link programmed.
on my beo 6 i have two separate offices one called office ML and the other Office 7000, so i can use two way for controlling bs5
Switching works excellent and worth it's money. My dealer's technician warned against wiring both speakers directly and to the active and the bs7000 to avoid conflicts..
Dear Mr. Fix,
I just read your explanation of use of an Almanado Switch and wondered if you could explain further as to what " . . which is in option 4 ( link)) and i have a beo4 which constantly in link programmed ", means.
Also,
" . .
on my beo 6 i have two separate offices one called office ML and the other Office 7000, so i can use two way for controlling bs5"
I apologies in advance, if this is so very simple and I don't know what it is.
Look forward to your answers.
- "link"-option means that you can program a b&o stereo (not all though) or tv in such a way that it only reacts to commands of the remote, which are preceded,by link, eg instead of just pressing cd you have to press link + cd. This option was made by b&o where you have two tv's or a tv and another Infrared eye (beolink active) in the same room or that the signals of the command can be captured by both receivers.
i hope this,helps: http://www.iconic-av.co.uk/manuals/MasterLink_Handbook.pdf
so to avoid that i have to press link+ cd each time youncan porgram the beo4 in such a way that it automatically and always does this.
as mr keith saunders explained some years ago, here how to:
It is certainly possible to have the Beo4 in permanent link mode provided your Beo5 provided your Beo4 software is at least at version 5.0 or later.
When it is this mode it will send the "Link" command in front of every command with teh exception of pressing the "TEXT" button.
To put the Beo4 in Link mode follow these steps:-
Press STANDBY and LIST button at the same time
Press up/down until the display shows "CONFIG"
Press 2, 0, 0, 2 and then the display will show "LINK ON"
Then press EXIT
Use the same sequence to make the Beo4 show "LINK OFF" in the display
NOTE: When the Beo4 is put into link-mode it will only be able to control TV's which are set to Option 4
