Hello,

I still have my old Beovision 3 but I have gone through two Beomedia 1 units now, the last one packed up a month ago and I think I'll just be chucking good money after bad if I try a hunt down another.

I want to be able to stream music (ideally) I thought about an Apple tv but someone told me that it wasn't very good with the Beovision 3 (and then to the Beolab 3500).

I wondered if anyone else has any ideas on this? Or is there another hard drive unit that would do the same job as the Beomedia 1, that would link via wifi to my computer?

Thank you,

David

Hi there Moreton,

The Apple TV is probably the best streamer inexistent if your like iTunes etc. It's simply superb and it should work fine with your BV3.

You'll need a HDMI to Scart converter. Whilst the picture quality may not be HD, the sound quality should be excellent. Saying that CRT, seems to make most sources look great so give it a try PLUS if you decide you're not keen on the Apple TV, you have 14 days to return it no questions asked!

I'm sure that you'll be really happy with it!

Most definitely! I have the Apple connected to an old Panasonic CRT TV which I bought in 2003 in my library room and definitely no problems there!

Enjoy it. It's the nicest designed little box ever. Even the mains lead is curled in the box so that there are no kinks in it! I'm sure that you'll enjoy using Vimeo on it too.

Hi Paul,

I'm going to ask you a daft question.

I've just ordered the Apple tv (thank you for the advice on that) and now I'm looking at converters. They all say upscale for blu-ray, but I'm guessing they all do the same thing? Is that right?

As far as cabling, do I just remove the old Beomedia 1 and plug its scart cable into the converter and then into the Apple? Is it all as simple as that??

I bought one of the Beo5 remotes when they came out and had the B&O engineer program it for there Beomedia and Virgin etc (in the days when I could afford for the engineer to pop round) but he charges a fortune so unfortunately I think I'll just have to use the Apple remote.

Best wishes,

David

Hi, I have a friend who uses one with an Avant and it's great, I'm also using one with an LX4500!

You need one of these    http://www.amazon.co.uk/eSynic%C2%AE-Digital-Composite-Converter-Xbox360-white/dp/B00A6STNHM/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1423237037&sr=8-4&keywords=hdmi+converter
