Dear friends of b&o,
two years ago I bought my first b&o-divices: beomaster 1900 and a pair of beovox3000 passive speakers.
I liked the design and all worked perfect for me (in a small breakfast corner in our living room).
Later I extended my beomaster by a beogram cd 3500 cd-player which worked well but the two design lines aren't compareable.
One month ago I replaced the beomaster (and the cd-player) by a beocenter 8500.
Connecting the beovox3000-speakers to the beocenter 8500 I didn't hear any tune while 'listening' radio.
After encreasing the volume to the max volume of 15 now I can hear in average volume which is absolutely necessary.
Reading the manual I found a function 'programming default volume', but all above level 11 is ignored is said there!
beocenter 8500 was testet with another pair of passive JVC-speakers (see below): same disappointing result.
currentyl my beomaster 1900 is connected to the JVC-speakers: satisfying volume and sound quality.
So the questions are:
Why do the passive speakers not work properly with beocenter 8500?
What would be better with RL 60.2 speakers?
Would buying a pair of active speakers (beolab 6000/8000?) solve the problem?
I am a newby to b&o with less experience in hifi. All suggestions are welcome!
thx
erich
