Hi Beoworld Forum!

After a long long time of searching i found a Beo4 Cinema with light function and i just can say its so fantastic to finally have the possibility to see the content of the display without switching on any room lights, especially when you have to use the soft buttons. I always had to count the numbers of pressing list to get to my desired function... Now its over :) But the problem i have is that the upper part of the keyboard (all buttons above the coloured ones from the TEXT row to TV row) are dark. That means the fiber optic cable inside must be broken at some stage. As i am familiar with that kind of stuff i had the idea to open the remote and fix the problem. The easiest way: calling b&o dealer and asking for service manual. Unfortunatelly not in this case... He told me there is nothing more in the system for that type beo4 (1162604). Now i really hope someone of you had a chance to save it and could provide it. The dealer just sent me the newest service manual, which i suggest will be totally different as the remote has a completelly different interiour. By the way i was thinking the Beoremote would solve my light problem in a way but unfortunatelly its not working with anykind of stb, or apple tv or ps3. So that was a disapointment as well, even if it is a brilliant design piece. I will never stop loving my good old BEO4  :)))

There is a section in the system for the Beo4 cinema in the archive section. Under service though, all that is available is:

We do not have any Beo4 Cinema in stock nor do we have any spare parts. We recommend selling a Beo5 if the customer's Beo4 Cinema fails.

Thanks for the answer Peter! B&O Technician from Madrid told me something similar. However i was hoping to get at least a service manual to try to fix it by myself. At the moment i'm a bit scared what happens if i open it and can't get it back together Sad

Thanks for your reply Jonnie! That means there is a general problem with the fiber-optic in the beo4 cinema... I am like waiting for the day when i don't care if i break it opening the remote and then maybe replacing the fiber-optic cable with LEDs Geeked but in fact that would be something for Ulf from Germany to do, he has done so many great electronic parts for B&O in the past...
