Hi guys, i am buying a non-B&O TV and wanna to connect it with my transmitter and essence.

I have beolab 18 and 19 so i can connect them to the transmitter wirelessly. I also connect my essence to the transmitter using a RJ45 cable. The system works well when i connect it to my laptop. And now i want to use the system with a TV.

Here is the question, i notice that i can't control the volume using tv remote control if i connect it via optical with transmitter. Can i use the remote to control volume if i connect the transmitter to the tv via analog?

Also, since i have essence, i can use Apple TV and airplay with essence to watch a movie or listen to music. Can i control volume when i using airplay?

I know B&O has RCV3000 IR receiver now, but i don't know how much that is and i'm not willing to spend extra money if i can control volume with the device i have so far.

I'm wondering i can control volume if i connect transmitter to tv with analog output on the back of TV. Or i can control volume via airplay.

Thanks for the help!

Hi QQQ

My arrangement is slightly different to yours but have a similar question to yours. I currently use my HTPC to feed my BeoLab 18 and BeoLab 3 and am thinking of feeding the speakers via the Transmitter 1 ie HTPC -> Transmitter 1 -> Beolabs 18/receiver 1->Beolab 13. I wanted to use the BeoRemote One to change the volume at the Transmitter 1 instead of HTPC as it drives all other functions on the HTPC.

I've been told that third party TV remotes (eg Samsung) can change the volume of the Transmitter 1 by attaching the RCV 3000 to it. It's not clear which model or will it work all makes. In my case I actually want to use the BeoRemote One.

In Aust it's about 425.

I'm actually waiting on Denmark for confirmation that the BeoRemote One can alter the volume.

It looks like the RCV 3000 is meant for third party but not sure about the BeoRemote One - ie reverse of PUC. Try asking your dealer if you could borrow to try it out, mine was happy to help with that.

Honestly I would dearly love to get the Beosystem 4 except it doesn't accept and output 4k signal - something I'd want for future proofing and my family videos.

Any idea how much the RCV 3000 is?

So far i'm getting a 3rd party TV since BO TV are just too expensive for me.

My transmitter, essence and lab18 19 works well when i connect to my laptop via a RCA-mini jack cable.

But it get a bit confusing when i try to connect a TV.

Actually I didn't ask - wasn't sure if it do want I wanted.

I know what you mean about the TV cost. With video technology moving so fast I find it difficult to put so much money on a single TV that can quickly be outdated. I heard the HDR technology on the next generation will blow out most current gen UHD/4k TVs

As it is I ended up just buying a 1080p LG OLED TV and will wait it out for the next gen before placing a big wad of cash on a big expensive TV. That being said had I not have my HTPC setup with my nice video library I'd probably would have bought a B&O TV - the one remote one multiple function and control is very appealing. I spent quite a bit of tech and time making it seamless for me
