With the H8 and Beolit 15, I am getting more into bluetooth than AirPlay, and I am looking to implement a bluetooth receiver to my system.

What are the different options for doing this? What are you using?

Not sure what happened with my previous post.

I wouldnt recommend the iwave bluetooth receiver - its rubbish. I never got it to work with my BS8.

Don't you need a transmitter for the H8? To put in the 3.5 headphone output of TV or Beomaster?

Here are some:http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_i_0_17?url=search-alias%3Delectronics&field-keywords=bluetooth+aptx+transmitter&sprefix=bluetooth+aptx+tr%2Celectronics%2C417

This one does both. Transmit for the H8 or recieve for use with Beolit 12.

I can highly recommend the Sony bm10.  This support aptx and the sound is really great. I have it connected to beosound 2300 with beolab 4000 speakers

I'm using the Nokia MD-310 in white:

Easy to use, APT-X codec support and it looks nice!

Hi Leo,

Does the H8 com with a transmitter to connect to you Beosystem?

Al the other bluetooth deviced mentioned here are receivers. For sending music from your smartphone to the Beosystem. Is that what you are looking for?

The Avantree Saturn Wireless Bluetooth Audio Receiver and Bluetooth Transmitter does both.

I don't have one so I don't know what the quality is.

No it doesn't. In my opinion, one should use the H8 with a phone for wireless. If you want to listen from your home stereo; use the wire that the H8 is delivered with.

What I am looking for is a Bluetooth receiver with a decent DAC.

When I have been using Airport express, I was able to use the optical output into an external DAC of my choice.

Yes. That is what I am looking for. What kind if experiences do people have with these kind of units? Is there much difference in sound quality?

Not much!

I ditched bluetooth long ago....as AirPlay came into my world Smile

Surely bluetooth for music streaming has improved over he years, but I would never use it for my home listening. After all it is rather (file)compressed....even if the AptX guys try to tell us another story.

For small speakers like the BeoLit 15/A2 it is perfect, because you need no (working!) wireless network for it, and it can be used on the go. And the Android users have no orher choice!

Whether the Arcam-thing is better than other (cheaper) devices, is hard to know - you can make sound pretty impressive with the filters of the modern DAC's.

I guess you will have to try the Arcam rBlink (or similar) out at home to see if it fits your needs and expectations.

Hmm.. Tough choice. I am using the Aune xdac2 with airplay. But most of the times when I start airplay, I have to turn it off and on in order for it to "sync" the optical signal. They call this a feature. Maybe I will just stick to Airplay through my apple tv. I didn't know that Bluetooth was more compressed than other signals..
