Dear members,
I have a "problem" with my Beolab 5000 speaker displays. One seems to be brighter than the other. Don't know why that is. I did clean the perspex covers and the insides so I guess that it's got nothing to do with dirt. Maybe one of the perspex windows is slightly less bright? But it didn't appear to me to be like that when I had the covers detached and was looking through them. Any ideas?

There's a contrast adjustment for the display, see here:

But the actual backlight can also get tired so the speakers may just have different brightness. On these kind of LCD displays, the "contrast" adjustment doesn't actually adjust contrast nor brightness, it adjusts the vertical viewing angle.

Is it possible for the light sensor to be the problem with a bit of dust on it? If they don't fix it, some voltage measurements may be needed.

Thanks for the information. In particular I was unfamiliar with the link by tournedos. However, I just compared the displays of the two Beolab 5000s with the ones of my two Beolab Penta IIs and it seems that three of the four are pretty much identical but one of the two 5000 displays is a brighter than the other three.
