The Turn button is not functioning on my 3404, Anyone know a solution?
I have never disassembled this TT.
Thanks in advance,
Sunnbumm
Is the deck new to you, and you are just trying it for the first time?
If yes, have you lifted the platter off and loosened the 3 transport screws? If yes to this, is there a record on the platter when you press the turn button? A 3404 won't turn at all without a record on it when you press turn.
BTW, The turn button is for cleaning records.
Forgive me if you knew all this already, and the button just stopped working on you.
Fairly new to me. the Turn button has never worked.
I will check the travel screws, but I bought it locally so I doubt the screws are locked down.
Any trick to removing the table to check?
Thanks for responding
The turn button is not often used. It's therefore often oxidized and will need a somewhat firmer pressto activate.

That did the trick, the button just needed a very firm push and hold. THANKS
The platter will only spin as long as you are holding the button down. That's normal operation.
HI MDillen,
Relating to BG3404, I have a need to replace the belt and according to this forum, you may still have these belts NOS in your inventory.
I looked up the part # and it is : 2732037 drive belt for BG3404 +BG2200+BG1700.
I hope you can still help and if so, please send email with details on payment, shipping etc...
Thx, Ihor
You have email
Am bringing my 8000TT back to life after having the tone arm stick at the centre point. I notice that the 2732045 belt servo motor looks very slack, seeing as you had repilied on this matter is it possible to still get either this part or a oem replacement.
My personal mail is bernie@softwisedata.co.uk if you prefer.
Can pay either by direct transfer or through something like paypal if preferred.
Many thanks
