Hi can anyone help I have a 28in avant tv I'm having trouble with the DVD player when I switch it of at the mains then try it no probs but when it heats up it keeps asking to load disc can anyone help
This is the Avant's built in player presumably, not a separate one connected.
My experience with equipment that's on the blink is that it's almost always dust or dirt that's built up over a sensor or causing a band to slip. If heat's the thing though, that could be an electrical problem like a capacitor starting to go, although I'd still wager a drink that it''s mechanical in origin

Do you know what to clean the lens with I have a disc cleaner but it's an old one
Not sure, When I got mine a child had posted a Lego into it so I got out a screwdriver, opened it up and at the same time gave the lens a once over with a cotton bud and some cleaning alcohol
Don't those proper disk kits come with something to put on it? Never used one myself. If not they used to be fairly cheap to pick up in music stores.
