hi the volume control on my 6000 has stoped working ive opened her up and the belts are ok so think it must be the canmotor can you still buy the motor ? or one that would work on the 6000 and beside the motor what else should I look for regards shaun
Common fault with the 6000, but have you tried cleaning the belt with alcohol first before moving onto the motor?
The belt often gets dirty and can seize up.

The motor can also be taken apart and cleaned so don't toss it out. I had one that stopped working and got it going again after disassembling, cleaning and reassembling.

I can supply an exact reproduction belt.Can you tell if the motor runs when the volume control buttons are pressed ?
Check also for bad solder joints on module 6, particularly where connectors are soldered to the board.Module 6 sits at the bottom of the Beomaster, below the processor.

I don't have the motor - and I doubt you'll find a new anywhere, a good used one from a donor would be more likely.

So you took it apart as in the picture below and cleaned the inside and it still doesn't work?
hi did not take the motor apart but took the gear under the motor apart and cleaned will try and take the motor itself apart will get back to you regards shaun
hi sonavor Ive made a right mess up with the motor and broke the top black plastic were the 2 main wires are I did ask martin if he had one but no luck will try leslie or see if a member has one for sale if not I will pack it up and put it away untill I can find a motor once again thanks for your help regards shaun

My Beomaster 6000 had a worn belt on the volume motor, so I set the volume manually to just slightly too loud and ran a Graphic equalizer in between pre and power amps and controlled the volume on the Graphic until I got a belt off Dillen.
When I got the volume working again, by fitting the new belt, I kept the graphic attached to give me a bit more top end due to me being 59 years old and losing my high end hearing a bit.
It seems a shame to not use it whilst waiting for a motor to become available, its a great amp and looks so nice.

Sorry to hear that. Can you post a picture of the broken part? Maybe it can be repaired.
hi dave ive put the volume on manually at 15 would love just to walk in and press volume up and down for control but made a big f.c.u.k up and done the motor I do need a motor ?

Here is a photo of a disassembled Beomaster 6000 volume motor that Olly (Beoworld user Step1) sent me three years back on the archived forum. His volume motor is similar to mine but is a little different. There must have been a change in that part during the manufacturing run or, maybe, two different sources for the motor. You should be able to find another donor Beomaster 6000 for a motor but then, that still leaves a Beomaster in need of motor. I hate to see a repairable unit sacrificed for one part although sometimes it is unavoidable. Ideally, you find a BM6000 beyond repair except for the volume motor but that's asking for a lot. A couple of years ago I remember a NOS spare volume motor was put up for sale on Ebay and it ended up selling for more than I have seen some used Beomaster 6000 units sell for! I would still like to see photos of your damaged motor to asses if it can somehow be fixed by someone here on the Workbench.

Uploading an image is pretty easy once you get the hang of it. First, on your pictures, digital cameras take high resolution pictures so you do have to edit the images that come right out of the camera.Crop the pictures to remove any blank areas. Just keep the area that has the content you want to display.After that, resize the image from the large, camera resolution to something smaller. Try to keep the image width below 1020 pixels.To attach an image to the forum post, you can use the tab called "Options" that is right next to the "Compose" tab.Another way is to upload the pictures in your Beoworld user library called "My Files". That takes a little more steps. You have to create a folder, then click that folder and add your files. After you have your files uploaded, you can use the little media icon on these Beoworld message screen tool bar to add images from your "My Files" library. The media icon looks like this -
