Apologies if this has been already mentioned, but thought it might be of interest.

I've just connected up a samsung tv to my Overture via the optical output on the tv, so I could hear the sound on my BL8000 speakers. The settings on the tv allow 'tv speakers' (volume controlled via the remote) or 'external speakers' (volume controlled via the Overture remote) On the 'tv speakers' setting there is a signal to the 'external speakers' as well which has to be controlled by the external unit (overture) separately.

That's all great apart from the fact it would be useful to be able to control the volume of both from one remote (I expect this is achievable with a Lintronic setup)

However what I's found which is interesting is that if I watch the tv via a humax satellite box (which I was doing all the time on the previous tv monitor) I can control the volume of both internal and external together using the remote of the humax box. So therefore the tv speakers act as a sort of 'centre' speaker with the BL8000's acting as extra umph.

Having typed all that it doesn't sounds as interesting as I thought, but useful to know anyway Smile

Watch out for the next instalment of useless facts I've discovered!

DJ
