Hello

I have both a BS 9000 (MKIII sw 3.3) and a BS Overture (sw 1.2). After purchasing the 9000 I still miss my old Overture and are looking for a possibility to have both in the same ML network. However, due to the old sw, none of these can run as slave (option 5 or 6). Is it worth upgrading the sw on one of them, i.e. what benefits can I expect in operation? I assume the Audio master sources can be played in the link room, but can the Audio slave sources be played in the master room and other link rooms?

Are you sure none of them can be a slave? The BS9000 should be able to be a slave, but I am not sure.

Neither respond to option 5 or 6 programming. As far as I can read from this forum slave possibility was introduced on sw 3.4 and 2.1, respectively.

Ok. I didn't know that.

The software chips are usually not that expensive. And you should be able to change it yourself.

Update the BS9000 Smile

This isn't really a DIY job. Typically the 9000 is bit of a strip down! I would pay for a professional to do this so it's done properly and in a ESD environment without causing damage internally to other PCB's.

Just contact your local dealer for an estimate, that's what they are there for, if you don't use them, you'll lose them Wink

Hi,

one thing that could be tried before is disconnect the BS9000 from Masterlink and programm the option 5 (or 6). After reconnecting the masterlink cable it might work.

This is the correct answer, looked it up just to double check. I thought the Ouverture worked from 1.4 in OPT5? These updates didn't happen until 2005/6.

Thanks, but the question is mainly what benefits and possibilities I would gain by adding a BeoSound as a slave in order to determine if I should upgrade. Will I be able to reach the CDs in the 9000 in other rooms if it is connected as slave?

Seems like I finally found my own answer:

At least for Overture, it can be placed in a link room and play both its own sources and the sources from the Audio master. See http://www.manualslib.com/manual/213552/Bang-And-Olufsen-Beosound-Ouverture.html?page=42#manual. Is this possible also for BS 9000?

Anyone knows where it is possible to get Overture sw 2.1? My dealer cannot help me on that.

Best regards
