Please Help
BeoSound 9000 MK1 typ 2526 does not react to Beo4.
I tried coupled with and without speakers  BL2500, BL 4000 and does not work. No recommendation trick does not work.
It worked for a while and then suddenly no more.

Have you disconnected it from the mains and then reconnected it again and tried it?

Is the BS9000 connected to anything else such as a TV or just to some Beolab speakers?  What option setting have you set it in?

Dave.

Make sure the eye on your BS-9000 is turned on. You may inadvertently disabled it when fumbling with the Beo4 buttons.

BeoLab 5, BeoVision 7-55 MK2, BeoSound 5 Encore, BeoSound 9000, BeoLab Penta III, BeoLab 8000, BeoLab 6000, BeoLab 2, BeoLab 7-6, BeoSound 8, BeoTime (analog clock), Beo 4 remote.

Are you absolutely sure you haven't plugged the Powerlink speakers into the 'AUX' connection by mistake?  This would stop remote operation.

Is or was the BS9000 set to 'Option 1' as it should be?

Do you have the red standby light on the BS9000?

Will it operate properly manually, without using the remote?

Dave.

You can't plug a 8 pins powerlinkplug into a 7 pins AUX conection.

When powering up, the BS9000 looks if there are speakers connected to it's powerlink sockets. when detected, the BS9000 starts in option 1.

It happens that the ir-receiver fails.

When vertically mounted, the (inner) ir-receiver at the bottom can be covered by dust.

I can't go to TEST MODE without remote.

How can i know if the IR receiver is faulty ?

Sounds like the IR receiver  may have failed.  Also note-  The MKI 9000 has the early type IR receiver which can be swamped by IR radiation from plasma TVs and some LCD TVs.. had one case with a 3D LCD tv where the IR for the 3D shutter glasses was interfering with IR reception. Make sure you're testing it with all nearby TVs / monitors OFF.

Are you positive the remote works?  Look at the top thru a digital camera while pressing a button.  See the red light?

Just to make sure, how exactly did you try this? Option programming works even if the BS is in option 0 ("not reacting"). I'm asking because option programming with the Beo4 isn't too intuitive and it easy to do it wrong, thus we may be just chasing ghosts here.

All right, I believe we can then declare that your BS has a faulty IR receiver. It wouldn't be the first.

Which cable did you move that made it work for longer?

yes ...if it Works and i leave it in stanby than remote Works again

...if i cut main power off for 1 hour ..and switch power ON to st-by ....i can't turn on from st-by position with remote.

So the easy answer seems to be, don't switch it off at the mains and leave it in standby.

Dave.

I took a quick look in the service manual, and I didn't see a backup battery anywhere. There's a large EEPROM memory though, and I suppose it is used to hold all settings.

I would start looking in the Powerlink speaker detection circuitry. As noted before, the Beosound drops to Option 0 (no local IR reception) if it doesn't see a connected PL speaker when you connect the BS to mains.

news .....

If I have a unit in operating more than about 1 hour and then starts running remote control normaly.
If I leave him in the ST-BY position, everything is ok.
If you completely turn off then no longer works.
So maybe looses some settings?
