I am wanting to purchase a beolab 3500 and a beolab 2000. How do I link them together if I wanted to do it myself. I cannot seem to find much information online on how to do this?
I presume I would need a link system such as a Beosound 5. I am currently using a MacBook and connected to Beosound 8 via Apple Airport Express, can I link this way to save on the Beosound 5?
Any ideas/ options much appreciated.
Beosound 8, Beotime, Beocom 4, Beo 5, Lutron Rania, MacBook 15" (Mid 2015), iPad Pro, iPhone 6S, B&O Play H3, Beolit 12, Form 2, A8 Headphones, B&O Play A1, B&O Essence

Thanks for your help. I presume I would buy a link TV and a Beolab 3500 and Beolab 2000. I could connect Apple TV to the TV and play the music from the TV to Beolab 3500 and Beolab 2000.
I would run a cable from the TV to the BL3500 upstairs and from the TV to say kitchen BL2000?
What would I need in terms of junction boxes etc? Thanks

Hi Chris, a relatively simple solution might be to buy a BeoPort (http://www.beoworld.org/prod_details.asp?pid=988), and connect theBeoLab's via MasterLink.
I am surprised Vienna did not suggest this -- so it is very possible he knows some issues with those two BeoLabs (i.e. Vienna is smarter and more knowledgable that me!)
So in case you don't know the BeoPort, I will illustrate how it connects:
A8 -- Airport -- (wifi) -- iTunes -- LinkPlayer (from PhilLondon) -- (usb + rca audio) -- Beoport -- (masterlink) -- Beloab 3500 -- (masterlink) -- Beolab 2000
You can even get power link speakers (e.g. 4000s, 6000s, 8000s, 3s, 5s, 9s) and attach them directly to the BeoPort
You control the speakers down stream of the BeoPort through a Beo4, requesting N.MUSIC or N.RADIO
Although LinkPlayer has some additional options
So lots of different ideas for you
Happy to answer questions

Agree completely with Ed...:)
You can use a Beoport box with LinkPlayer as an audiomaster, connect a pair of Beolabs and your mainroom is set up.
Connect BL2000 and BL3500 in different rooms via Masterlink and your two (audio) linkrooms are set up.
You can add (Beo)devices later on.

There are dozens of possible solutions to "drive" a MasterLink-System and I absolutely agree to the BeoPort solution, especially if you want to expand the system to a "Classic" MasterLink Setup with TV(s), Audio and so on.If streaming from central storage/internet and/or from mobile Android/Apple/Windows devices is your goal,a NAS + Router + multiple PlayMakers with BeoLab Speakers will be an alternative in the VERY near future.Setup for PlayMaker based "Link-System" can be "wired" or "wireless" PS: ... fortunately no lack of - just lack of time at the moment ...

Yes, that is a key question

I thought of introducing that discussion - but it get's so complicated so quickly that my head starts to hurt !

The OP perhaps needs to read the BeoPlayMaker thread to understand the rumour !!! I agree is sounds a HOT product
