so every year around Christmas I watch Chevy Chase in Christmas vacation. In the scene where Clark sends a huge ice cycle through his neighbors window and destroys there stereo. I always wondered what kind of stereo that was. I know it's fancy looking and thin and possibly a B&O. Anyone else here ever wondered that or know what I'm talking about. Now that I know a lot more about this brand, I think it's a B&O system..

It's a BeoSystem 4500 - one of my favorite B&O music systems! Here's a picture of mine:
The one they destroyed in the movie is luckily only a dummy though! Take a good look at the pictures here. They didn't get the sides on the BG4500 right. And the innards of one of the smashed units gives it away as well.

It was a Beo, but I can't recall if it was the Beocenter or something like the Beo 3000-9000 range of separates. A tragic scene to be sure, but a hysterically funny movie.
You think I'm going to risk going down the hill with only a piece of government issue plastic between my brains and the ground?
You really think it matters?
And the single most epic rant ever delivered by a live actor, only better ones come from Duckman.

I'm afraid I'm recovering from the BeoVirus.
Yes, it was a 4500. And it exploded :)

Oh, yes. I remember watching it on VHS back then... watching the particular scene a few times, using Slow/Still. Even with the grainy VHS Picture I could see that it was not a real B&O unit that was destroyed... What a release It looks like they've just taken some PCB's from a PC (or whatever) and put into a box. Nice to know that they did not destroy a real Beosystem...

Dennis your system is gorgeous. I don't even know what I'm looking at but I know I like it! Going to research your system after while.
