Please can anyone advise on what might be the issue with my new Moment or my use of it? The wheel on both sides of the tablet is unbelievably erratic. Swiping clockwise on the circle sometimes turns volume up and sometimes down and sometimes pauses. Swiping anti-clockwise sometimes turns volume down and sometimes up to deafening levels. The centre of the circle is unresponsive most of the time and only intermittently plays or pauses as required. I have powered off and a tried a factory reset to no avail. Thanks for any tips.....

I have followed the update procedure several times but I'm not sure what the latest version is so can't be sure it's been implemented.

Hi and sorry to hear. I don't have a moment but what I've read of these forums is that when the moment is brand new it takes a few days to settle. Funny I know but in terms of the mathematic calculations it is doing on your collection

You can tell if you have the latest version because it will show a volume indicator when you change the volume.

Others who have the moment will no doubt post to assist you.

BeoSound Moment have many problems.

Sale it or ask your dealer a refund.

Yes .... If the system is flat out cataloging that may explain the lag in the UI. Especially as it now seems there are two catalogue operations. One in the base station and a much slower one in the tablet :-/

Generally, I cannot accept that you have to upgrade software or firmware to make things work, you just bought.
When I buy something, I expect it to work when I receive it. If it doesn't, I will go back and
ask for a repair or refund.
If the thing needs an upgrade to work I expect the producer or the shop to do it before selling it or
at least do it when I discover that it doesn't work and return it.
The buyer is not the one expected to make the thing work.

Your Moment seems to have a defect. Don't try to repair anything yourself, software, hardware or anything.
Contact the seller and ask them to fix it or replace it.

Hi there

I agree with Dilen. First point of call is your dealer as out of the box it should work.

Mine works fine since day 1 so it could be a defective moment but I assume they are all tested before leaving the factory.

Please call your dealer as that does not sound right.

It may need a mains grounding kit installing with it. Ask your dealer...

Definitely get your dealer to check it out and replace it if needed.  It's guaranteed after all.

As to working straight from the box - I agree it should ideally be like that but when software is changed/upgraded after a unit has left the factory, it's not always that simple.  Seals on boxes need to be broken and then that raises suspicions for the buyer - I won't buy anything with a broken seal on a box.

I've just bought a new iPad Air II recently and had the same issue - it needed to by upgraded to the latest software.  This is so easy to do and will be ongoing for the lifetime of the product as new features arrive.  The Moment and other B&O products are the same and will constantly need upgrading and there will be a crossover for items held in stock by dealers which will have older software.  I don't know, but it is possible that dealers are not allowed to do this software upgrade so it has to be dopne by the buyer.  This should however be clarified by the dealer.

It does sound as if this unit may have some sensitivity issues.  Alternatively, the owner may not be operating it quite right in terms of actions/swipes etc.

First port of call is the dealer to either replace, check the unit or give a demonstration on how to use it properly to at least show the unit is defective or not.

Dave.

Thanks for all your input. I have managed to solve the issue by resetting the Jukebox with a paper clip as suggested in the manual provided on this forum. 😀

Fantastic news.  I hope you enjoy the 'Moment'.  A possible future purchase of mine.  Glad it was so easy to sort out.

Dave.

And a great shame as after a few weeks and software update I absolutely love mine. It's on right now. Perfect integration of a new and digital age into classic bang and Olufsen system we all love.

I have waited many years for a device that would allow me to ditch AirPlay and have a more built in experience and finally it's here.
