I won an auction the other day on a BS9000 MK.III. As I have a MK.I with a faulty laser, I chose to buy a newer model where spare parts are still available. As my luck would have it, the MK.III has the exact same problem, where the laser cannot focus :(
I wanted to clean the laser and went into the service menu to move the light pen to the outermost position, but it does not move very far. My MK.I moved all the way to the edge as you would expect it to as it needs to be able to go to the edge of the CD, but the MK.III only moves a couple of millimeters, so I suspect there are more problems than the laser itself.
Does anyone on here have any suggestions that I can try myself reg. the movement of the light pen?
