hello, i have a lovely pair of B&O beovox 5700 speakers which I love but would like to use them with the modern cambridge audio system that i have set up.

the speakers come with 2-pin din plugs that i imagine you can strip off at the ends and use the raw wires to connect into the connectors in my new amp.  however i'm worried about the power that comes from the cambridge audio amp and fearful that i may damage the speakers?  my cambridge audio amp is the Azur651A http://www.cambridgeaudio.com/products/hifi-and-home-cinema/azur-651a

unfortunately i am a total musical tech novice and have no idea what i am doing - all i know is that the sound of these speakers when i had them connected to a beomaster 4000 was amazing and since that amp broke down, my new speakers (that i got with the cambridge audio setup just aren't the same).

i love these vintage speakers and don't want to damage them - can anyone please advise me on whether using them with a modern amp is something i should be concerned about or what i can do?

Any help would be much appreciated!!  thank you

Brynn

Hi Brynn and welcome to Beoworld.

The 5700's are studio monitor speakers and they should be fine with your amp unless you really crank up the volume.  Just be sensible with them.

This is the Beoworld detail page on the Beovox 5700:  http://www.beoworld.org/prod_details.asp?pid=475

Dave.
