I'm new to the B&O systems and i'm currently in the process of building out a system.
i've purchased a lovely pair of Beolab 8000 speakers and i have a Beogram CDX and i've just purchased a very pretty AV7000 unit that came with a beolink 1000 remote but i'm having some amateur issues getting it set up.
First off, i can't for the life of me find any information on how to pair my beolink 1000 remote with the AV7000. The AV unit only functions with the remote so i currently do not have anyway to test the unit even works properly.
Any tips on how to pair the beolink 1000 remote?
Welcome to Beoworld.
It's possibly been reset to work with a Beolink 5000 or 7000. To return it for use with the BL1000, press SOUND, 0, STORE on the Beolink 1000 Terminal to program your audio system back again for the correct setting for daily use in an AV7000 System. (taken from the AV7000 info page on Beoworld).
Dave.
Thanks very much!
i ran a test tonight and i'm not confident it's transmitting an IR signal as i did the test with my mobile phone's camera.
Also, the button configuration doesn't have any of the programming buttons that the 'setting up' manual speaks to needing - store, sound etc.
Have you ran in to this problem before?
This gets interesting! That as far as I can see is not a Beolink 1000, irrespective of what it says on the bottom. The keys and layout are from a 'Beolink Audio Terminal' - presumably what was supplied in the US with the AV7000? I suspect a replacement/repair case or keypad has been used and it's mixed things up a bit. There was a recent thread on Beolink 1000 variants here:

If you aren't seeing any IR activity via a digital camera, assuming you've put new batteries in the remote, it sounds like it's dead. Do you have access to another Beolink remote?
Thanks Dave,
Yeah, i think i've got a dud. Ahead of buying a new beolink 1000 would you guys recommend any of the other universal B&O remotes?
Do you know if you can pair a Beo4 remote with the AV 7000?
- David.
Here is the product info which explains the limitations of remotes with the AV7000:

The user manual only says to use the Beolink 1000.
Dave - i think you're right. What i have is a Beolink Audio Terminal.
Whether my current remote is dead or not i cant find any manual to go with the Beolink Audio Terminal to see how you pair the darn thing. It doesn't have any of the store buttons found on the beolink 1000.
The AV terminal is quite rare too but there is one for sale on eBay at the moment:

That version has the 'store' button. Life is awkward without it on the A Terminal but it is obviously possible as that's what came with the AV7000!
I can't find a manual for the A Terminal either. You could try to contact B&O directly. The customer service department are usually helpful.
Beolink 1000's are pretty cheap. I'd just buy one as they are really common and easily available.
