I am trying to decide if upgrading my system 1 to a system 3 is worth it. I will bypass all of the system 3 video inputs and only use it for audio for 2 channel music and 5.1 surround.

Do you think there will be appreciable difference in audio quality? My setup is listed below.

beosystem 1 (optical in for audio)

beosound 9000 (masterlink connection)

front: Beolab 5

rear: Beolab 8000

center: 2 beolab 4000's

I found a huge improvement in sound from the upgrade.

Btw, I see that you are using 4000s for the center. I think a beolab 10 would do a better job keeping up with the 5s. I love my beolab 10. It made the dialogue much clearer than when coming from the 4000s.

Thank you for your help on this. Found a great deal on eBay for s beolab 10! Can't wait to get it hooked up.
