Hi All

Need help please, trying to connect Apple TV (latest edition) to my BeoVision 6 with HDMI and every time I try and play a film it comes up with "this content requires HDCP for playback, either your HDMI cable isn't properly connected, or your HDMI connection doesn't support HDCP"

What is strange for me is it plays Apple film trailers, Redbull TV, YouTube and films off my server (i.e. ones I have "burned" on) etc without issue the problem arrives when trying to either watch a "purchased" film from iTunes or say using Amazon Prime via the iPad.

I have set Apple TV:

iTunes Store settings to 720p HD

Audio & Video settings HDMI Output is on Auto & TV resolution to 720p HD 60hz

HDMI lead is 2.0/1.4a spec and HDMI to HDMI

Any pointers please what I'm missing or where I'm going wrong

Many thanks all

Hi

this is due to hdcp protection.

look at this list nd you will see if your bv is hd ready :

http://bogo.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/2646/~/which-bang-%26-olufsen-televisions-qualify-as-hd-ready%3F

A dvi plug doesn't mean your bv is hd ready.

4 beolab 5,  beolab 9, beolab 10, beolab 5000, beolab 8000 mk2, beolab 6002, beolab 3500, beovision 7 55 mk2,  2 beovision 11 46 mk4, beotime, beosound ouverture, beosound essence, beoplay A8, beomaster 900 RG de luxe and the collection continues...

thank you for the reply and assistance olivisab much, much appreciated.

after speaking to Apple it seems you have to:

  1. From the Apple TV interface, select: Settings > Sleep Now.
  2. Turn off your TV and wait for about ten seconds.
  3. Turn your TV back on.
  4. Press the Select button on your Apple TV remote to wake your Apple TV.

and strangely it works !
