Hi All,

I'm looking at buying a vintage Beocenter ( I just love the styling!) I'm not planning on using the tape but will definitely be using the turntable and the radio.  I'm watching a Beocenter 5000 on ebay at the moment and it shows a mic input and an aux input (din). I would want to hook up either a CD player or my Ipod to the aux input with a suitable din to 3.5mm or rca lead, does anyone know if the Beocenter 5000 would be suitable to work in this way. Basically can I connect an external device to the aux port ?? Big Smile

Thanks,

Neil.

Yes indeed, the aux input was originally intended for tape copying,so accepts signals at line level.I think from memory, there is a switch integral to the socket,so that when you plug in the Din plug it interupts the signal path automatically?

Cheers for that!

But I think a Beocenter may not be right for me after all, as far as I can tell you can no longer get replacement stylus' for MM20C cartridge as fitted to the 5000, I do play a lot of vinyl so probably wouldn't be any good for me. Unless anyone can corrent me! I just want to replace my early 90s Technics turntable and Cambridge Audio stuff as it's just so ugly!!

Try to find a BC 7007 or 7700. They look similar and use the MMC range.
