I have a great beomaster 8000 and 6000, both of which start the 8002 turntable when I press phono button on the beomaster.

I just got a beomaster 9000 and a beogram 3000, but I am not having the same luck.    Oddly, I tried the 3000 on the beomaster 8000, and the turntable wouldn't start automatically there either.  So does the 3000 just not have this datalink feature?   I was thinking something was wrong with the 9000, but since the beogram 3000 doesn't start on the 8000 beomaster either, I am thinking it is a problem with the 3000.

Also, the 3000 I just purchased was supposed to have a great condition mmc2, but I think it is dead.   Terrible sound, so I might need to have it rebuilt.   Know anybody that rebuilds them?

thanks!

Hi,

The Beogram 3000 you are talking about should have working datalink. Check that the 2 data pins haven't been removed from the DIN plug. There should be seven pins in total. If it has 5 you need to get hold of 2x pins (they screw in)

As for the cartridge... Make sure that the tracking force is set correctly (1g-1.2g) and that the stylus is perfectly clean. If that doesn't work you can get your cartridge rebuilt by Axel at schallplattennadeln in Germany.
