I have now been using the H3 ANC earbuds for a couple of days. I have used the "old" H3 about 6 months, so Im able to compare.

Package:

Bigger and in my mind more exclusive packaging than the H3:s. There are pictures under the "Flash your..." thread.

The H3 ANC comes with a nice little pouch. In my mind more useful that the box that came with the H3s. I never used that box actually.

The earbuds and cord:

The earbud exterior are very similar to the H3s. Its the same type of detachable eartips in various sizes that came with the H3. You also get one medium sized "Comply eartips", that is more of a foam material that you can shape and that then expand when put into your ear to get a snug fit.

The cord is thicker than expected. That is both good and bad. Good thing is that they do not get all tangled up in your bag, but the downside is that they feel a bit too stiff when you e.g. push them down in you inner pocket in your jacket. Also, sometimes noice travels up to the earbud when you move around, and the cord rubs against e.g your jacket.

The "electronics" is no real problem. Its quite close to the plug, so its not in the way. The plug us MUCH more robust than on the H3. You will not tear this one off by misuse Smile.

Sound:

Detailed and nice. More bass than the H3, but still balanced in my mind. The H3 sounded a bit "sharp" sometimes, but the sound in these H3 ANC is very pleasant.

Only tried the ANC in the subway here in Stockholm, and it makes a clear difference. In office environment the ANC does not add anything, I would say.

All in all, I´m very happy with my new travel companions.

Good evening, I bought mines last wednesday, first available pair at my dealer's in Paris. Il could test them the same day flying to Kazakhstan and must admit I am quite pleased with the way ANC works... even when no music is playing ! In the subway our any urban environment, H3 ANC are very well adapted. All in all, same impressions : better packaging, better sound than standard H3, but a bit heavier and bigger, which makes them more difficult to use at any moment.

If you are looking for small, nice, reliable, robust, efficient ANC headphones, these are the ones undoubtedly !

Hi,

as the H3 is in ear and now has ANC, i think main competitor might be Bose's QC20, at least from a price perspective.

I am using the Bose QC20 for a couple of years now and the noise cancelation is great. Did not find any better, beside the Over-Ear Bose QC25.

The QC25 are due to size a "no-go" for my purpose, but i use the Qc20 daily while commuting in trains or planes.

Nevertheless, the typical Bose sound is not that great, i prefer the Bang&Olufsen sound much more.

So my question: is the noise cancellation of H3 "up to the job", how does it compare to the Bose Qc20?

I tested the B&O H8..and beside the bluetooth connectivity problems and the size of on-ear (you can't sleep on your side during flights)...i was not convinced at all by the noise cancellation they provided.

My wife has just returned from the airport and made this observation.

Without ANC she sometimes had to turn the volume to near 100%, and with ANC she could comfortably listen at around 50% volume.

Is the B&O logo grey/silver or is it golden like on the standard H3 headphones?

If it were me, I'd be in the factory with a pot of rose gold pronto for Xmas.

Totally agree. Some distinctive colours work well on something that is otherwise small and discrete.

I've just used these earphones for an hour, and they are mightly impressive. Any 95% of the ambient noise is removed.

Is it possible to use them as hands free to a cell phone?

Thank you. I prefer grey as it is more unobtrusive and they don't look as cheap as the normal black H3 with their golden logo.
