Good to know and not that much work for them to publish them.  This will satisfy a lot of users who want to know what's included in updates.  I don't really care so long as it improves things!

Dave.

Now the external IR-receiver is working officially. I'm a bit confused about this sentence:

Optional IR-receiver to operate your BeoSound Essence with BeoRemote One. For remote control operation, see the guide for BeoRemote One.

Does this means the Beo4 will not work anymore? I have already an IR-receiver connected and it works well with the Beo4.

The ir-eye conected to the Essence 2nd gen has been a working solution for a while now.

Since they were still working on the software (to support it) it hasn't been made official untill now.

By the way - could you describe how (which functions/commands) you use it with the Beo4.

P.S. I see no problem in using the Beo4 instead of the Beoremote One.

There might be some things, that are easier done with the One, though - e.g. not every Beo4 has a 'join' entry....

In the FAQ's of the Essence 2nd gen there is a list of compatible commands for the Beo4 and the One

Mostly I use the Beo4 to turn on the Essence with the command RADIO (TuneIn), use the VOLUME and STANDBY to turn off.

I have a wheely remote which is on the wall. Spotify (Beo4 command N-MUSIC) starts in any case after the Bluetooth connection is established.

Thanks!

those commands are rather few. But if it is, what you need, you'll be fine with the Beo4.

Have a look in the FAQ's for what is possible.

If my memory serves me well (?), there are some (new) possibilities with the ir-eye direct functions.

Pushing the 'Join' button now toggles between the active sources on the multiroom setup.

(I suppose, that the Join' command on Beo4/One can we used respectively.)

Nice! It's a welcome change from B&O to be more open in terms of documentation. Same goes for the superb technical documentation of the Beolab 90.

Better documentation can save a lot of trouble in B&O environments. :-)

Thank you, B&O.
